先週取り上げたアニエス・ヴァルダ監督。アップリンク吉祥寺で追悼上映があるようです。先週確認した時は上田と新潟でしか『顔たち、ところどころ』はやっていなかったので朗報です。
3月29日に亡くなったアニエス・ヴァルダ監督の追悼特集上映が4月6日（土）より2週間限定でアップリンク吉祥寺にて緊急決定しました。
「ヌーヴェルヴァーグの祖母」とも呼ばれる女性映画監督の先駆であり、2015年にはカンヌ国際映画祭で史上6人目となるパルム・ドール名誉賞、2017年には60年以上にも渡る映画作りの功労が認められアカデミー名誉賞を受賞したアニエス・ヴァルダ監督の作品『顔たち、ところどころ』『5時から7時までのクレオ』『幸福（しあわせ）』『ジャック・ドゥミの少年期』、ヴァルダ監督が歌詞で参加しているジャック・ドゥミ監督作品『ローラ』の5作品を上映します。
Yutaは無性に観に行きたくなって先週末に無理して上田まで見に行ったのですが、ほっこりする映画で良かったです。最新号のTIMEでは共同制作のJRが追悼文を載せていました。英語ニュースだとAgnèsはアグネスで、ヌーベルバーグもNew Waveと英語になってしまうのですね。France 24という英語ニュースではアニエスと呼んでいましたが。。。

When you looked at me and Agnès Varda, you saw a young guy and an old woman. But as I got to know her, I lost that sense of age. That’s because she was always in the present, always active. Until her death at 90 on March 29, she was planning what she would do next. She was in the moment, not in the nostalgia of the great life she had. That’s how she kept making it greater.

アニエスが亡くなった時にJRはmy shooting starとアニエスを悼んでいました。
shooting starは「流れ星」で、falling starとも呼ぶそうです。流れ星に願いをかけると願いが叶うというのは英語でも同じようですが、他にも意味を持つことがあるようです。
A falling or shooting star is believed to be a sign that a child has just come into the world. The shooting star falls over the spot where the baby is born, according to nineteenth-centurv folklore.
Many believe that a wish made quickly and with sincerity on the first star of the evening, or while a falling star streaks across the nighttime sky, will be granted. This old belief is evident in the popular children's rhyme which is supposed to be recited with eyes closed after seeing such a star: "Starlight, star bright, First star that I've seen tonight. Wish I may, wish lI might, grant the wish I wish tonight."
To some, a falling star is also said to be an unlucky sign for those who witness it, a presage of death (especially of a king or other man of great power), or an indication that someone close to you has just passed on.

このJRのメッセージはAgnesと宇宙服を着て、頭上に地球などが掲げられていましたから、shooting starで「流れ星」が念頭にあるのは間違いなさそうです。
でもshootingには「（映画などの）撮影」の意味もありますから、「撮影のスター」と「監督としての憧れ」の気持ちも込めているかもしれません。その方が追悼の気持ちも増しますよね。
