個人的にはホーガンとハンセンの区別がつかないほどプロレスは知らないのですが、話題になっているのでWWEのサイトを覗いてみました。日本語のサイトでもすでに発表がなされていたんですね。素早い断固とした対応に驚きました。

ホーガン側の謝罪声明については、事実を認めて、侮辱的な言動をしたことを率直に謝罪していますね。それだけだとracistと思われることを懸念したのかわかりませんが、自分の信条を説明して、それに反する行為だったという反省を付け加えています。

事実を認める(Eight years ago I used offensive language)→謝罪(It was unacceptable … and I apologize for having done it)
信条を説明(I believe very strongly that)→反省(I am disappointed with myself that…)

Hulk Hogan apologizes for racist rant that got him fired

“Eight years ago I used offensive language during a conversation. It was unacceptable for me to have used that offensive language; there is no excuse for it; and I apologize for having done it,” the wrestling legend said in a statement.

“This is not who I am. I believe very strongly that every person in the world is important and should not be treated differently based on race, gender, orientation, religious beliefs or otherwise.”

“I am disappointed with myself that I used language that is offensive and inconsistent with my own beliefs,” he added.

一方の東芝のサイトでの謝罪は具体的な違反行為を述べずにお騒がせしていることに謝っています。まだ具体的なことを述べられる段階ではないかもしれませんが、ホーガンの謝罪の方が何に対して謝罪しているのか明確にしていますよね。

英文サイトの方では、第三者委員会調査報告書の英語版はアップされていませんでした。このことについても謝罪しています。。。
