今年の7月に「この新語は押さえておけ!」とreimagineという語を紹介させてもらいました。アラブ首長国連邦の航空会社Etihadの広告でもこの表現が使われたのを知り改めて取り上げてみます。広告自体は今年の春からスタートしたようです。

“Our goal is not to improve on what has been done before – but to totally reimagine it.” というスローガンにあたる部分を見るだけでもreimagineという言葉には「これまでのものを改善していく」というimproveよりも「新しく作り直す」といったより大きな変革の意味が込められていることが伺えます。とは言ってもニコールキッドマンという大御所の採用は守りに入った選択に思えてしまいますが(苦笑)

ナレーションの言葉はかっこいいですね。特にOvercome all indecision and take a running jump into the unchartered.(優柔不断な態度に見切りをつけて、未知の中に飛び込んでいきます)という部分は自分のブトグタイトルにも絡むので気になります。

発表会そのものもYoutubeにありました。17分30秒あたりからニコールキッドマンの紹介。18分あたりから彼女が登場します。
レジデンスというファーストクラスのキャビンがあるそうで、宝くじにでも当たらない限り縁がなさそうです。。。
