セレモニー関係は苦手なのでマケインの葬儀の時はスルーしていましたが、EulogyをJon Meachamが述べていたので今回は見ました。聖書の一節を読むのですが、どこか読まれたのか紹介してくれるサイトもあるのですね。ワシントン大聖堂での国葬と地元テキサスでのSt. Martin’s Episcopal Churchと２回行われたためか引用の量は多めになっています。

リンク先のサイトで国葬のservice leafletのリンクがあります。式の賛美歌や聖書の一節などあらかじめ印刷されているんですね。読まれた聖書はNew Revised Standard Version（新改訂標準訳聖書）のものでした。Wikipediaによると聖公会でよく使われる聖書のようです。

ヨハネの黙示録/ 21章 01-04 06-07

わたしはまた、新しい天と新しい地を見た。最初の天と最初の地は去って行き、もはや海もなくなった。 

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more.

更にわたしは、聖なる都、新しいエルサレムが、夫のために着飾った花嫁のように用意を整えて、神のもとを離れ、天から下って来るのを見た。 

And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

そのとき、わたしは玉座から語りかける大きな声を聞いた。「見よ、神の幕屋が人の間にあって、神が人と共に住み、人は神の民となる。神は自ら人と共にいて、その神となり、 

And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying,

“See, the home[a] of God is among mortals.

He will dwell[b] with them;

they will be his peoples,[c]

and God himself will be with them;[d]

彼らの目の涙をことごとくぬぐい取ってくださる。もはや死はなく、もはや悲しみも嘆きも労苦もない。最初のものは過ぎ去ったからである。」 

he will wipe every tear from their eyes.

Death will be no more;

mourning and crying and pain will be no more,

for the first things have passed away.”

また、わたしに言われた。「事は成就した。わたしはアルファであり、オメガである。初めであり、終わりである。渇いている者には、命の水の泉から価なしに飲ませよう。 

Then he said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give water as a gift from the spring of the water of life.

勝利を得る者は、これらのものを受け継ぐ。わたしはその者の神になり、その者はわたしの子となる。 

Those who conquer will inherit these things, and I will be their God and they will be my children. 

ヨハネの黙示録/ 21章 23-25

この都には、それを照らす太陽も月も、必要でない。神の栄光が都を照らしており、小羊が都の明かりだからである。 

And the city has no need of sun or moon to shine on it, for the glory of God is its light, and its lamp is the Lamb. 24 

諸国の民は、都の光の中を歩き、地上の王たちは、自分たちの栄光を携えて、都に来る。 

The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it.

都の門は、一日中決して閉ざされない。そこには夜がないからである。 

Its gates will never be shut by day—and there will be no night there. 

イザヤ書 60章 1-5

起きよ、光を放て。あなたを照らす光は昇り／主の栄光はあなたの上に輝く。 

Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. 

見よ、闇は地を覆い／暗黒が国々を包んでいる。しかし、あなたの上には主が輝き出で／主の栄光があなたの上に現れる。 

For darkness shall cover the earth, and thick darkness the peoples; but the Lord will arise upon you, and his glory will appear over you.

国々はあなたを照らす光に向かい／王たちは射し出でるその輝きに向かって歩む。 

Nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn. 

目を上げて、見渡すがよい。みな集い、あなたのもとに来る。息子たちは遠くから／娘たちは抱かれて、進んで来る。 

Lift up your eyes and look around; they all gather together, they come to you; your sons shall come from far away, and your daughters shall be carried on their nurses' arms. 

そのとき、あなたは畏れつつも喜びに輝き／おののきつつも心は晴れやかになる。海からの宝があなたに送られ／国々の富はあなたのもとに集まる。 

Then you shall see and be radiant; your heart shall thrill and rejoice, because the abundance of the sea shall be brought to you, the wealth of the nations shall come to you.

イザヤ書　60章 18-20

あなたの地は再び不法を耳にすることなく／破壊と崩壊は領土のうちから絶える。あなたの城壁は「救い」と／城門は「栄誉」と呼ばれる。 

Violence shall no more be heard in your land, devastation or destruction within your borders; you shall call your walls Salvation, and your gates Praise. 

太陽は再びあなたの昼を照らす光とならず／月の輝きがあなたを照らすこともない。主があなたのとこしえの光となり／あなたの神があなたの輝きとなられる。 

The sun shall no longer be your light by day, nor for brightness shall the moon give light to you by night; but the Lord will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory. 

あなたの太陽は再び沈むことなく／あなたの月は欠けることがない。主があなたの永遠の光となり／あなたの嘆きの日々は終わる。

Your sun shall no more go down, or your moon withdraw itself; for the Lord will be your everlasting light, and your days of mourning shall be ended.

どちらもThe Word of the Lordと述べて終えています。それを受けて列席者が何か返していましたが、Thanks be to Godという言葉のようでLeafletにも次のように印刷されているので期待されているやり取りのようです。

ネット検索して紹介されていたのが次の総則。カトリックのものですが、プロテスタント系でも採用されているとネットで説明されていました。日本語だと「主のことば」「神に感謝」となるようです。

Institutio Generalis Missalis Romani (General Instruction of the Roman Missal)

After the collect, all sit. The priest may, very briefly, introduce the faithful to the Liturgy of the Word. Then the lector goes to the ambo and, from the Lectionary already placed there before Mass, proclaims the first reading, to which all listen. At the end, the lector says the acclamation, Verbum Domini (The word of the Lord), and all respond, Deo gratias (Thanks be to God).

ローマ・ミサ典礼書の総則

128[=89] 集会祈􏰁が終わると一同は着席する。司祭はごく短いことばで、信者をことば の典礼に招くことができる。朗読者は朗読台へ行き、すでにミサの前にそこに置かれてい た朗読聖書から第 1 朗読を行い、一同は[...]それを聞く。終わりに朗読者は「主のことば」 と呼びかけ、一同は「神に感謝」と答える。

ここで適当であれば短い沈黙のひとときをとることができる。こうして一同は聞いたことを黙想することができる。

トランプが葬儀の間行儀よくしていたことを得意気に語っていたそうですが、Yutaもセレモニー系は苦手なのでこの点ではトランプに限りなく近いです。。。
