自分で調べると独自のアンテナが立ちます。アンテナがないと色々な情報が素通りしてしまうんですよね。次のようなツイートも先月調べてなかったら見落としていたかもしれません。

病者の塗油（びょうしゃのとゆ、ラテン語: unctio infirmorum[1]、英語: anointing of the sick）は、カトリック教会における七つの秘跡の一つ[2]。
古代から行われていた病者への塗油は、時が経つにつれて臨終にある者に対してのみ行われるようになったため、「終油（しゅうゆ）の秘蹟」と呼ばれるようになっていたが、第二バチカン公会議後の1972年には秘跡の由来と本来的な意味の見直しが行われ、対象を臨終の者に限らず行われる「病者の塗油」という名前に改められた[2]。
苦しんでいる人を救うのが宗教の役目とも言えますから、司祭は現在その最前線にいるということで犠牲も起こっているとのことです。イタリアのニュースは目に入っていましたが、どうしてもこういう広がりの理解には及んでいませんでした。

The Pope has encouraged Catholic priests to 'have the courage to go out and go to the sick people', but their visits to intensive care units have brought them into contact with some of the most serious virus cases.

According to the Diocese of Rome, priests shouldn’t visit coronavirus victims in their homes unless to administer the last rites. In those cases, the priest should wear a disposable mask, gown and gloves.
Access to coronavirus patients who have been hospitalized depends on the policy of the particular institution.
At San Carlo Borromeo Hospital in Milan, priests may visit patients only when explicitly requested by patients or their family members.
The Rev. Alberto Mandelli, assistant chaplain at the facility, has seen three coronavirus patients, all of them in intensive care, to whom he administered the anointing of the sick. He was required to wear two layers of gown, a mask, a visor and disposable shoe covers to perform the rite. All three patients were near death and unable to communicate, but Father Mandelli said he believed he was performing a “ministry of consolation.”

On 20 March, the Apostolic Penitentiary issued a decree granting plenary indulgences to “the faithful suffering from the Covid-19 virus, commonly known as coronavirus, as well as to healthcare workers, family members and all those who in any capacity, including through prayer, care for them.”
The document comes in response to pastoral, spiritual and sacramental concerns for those affected by the coronavirus pandemic, which has raised “new uncertainties and above all widespread physical and moral suffering”.
indulgenceといえばルターの宗教改革に出る免罪符ですね。ミサができない中、そのような処置を取らざるをえないのでしょうが、there is an “imminent danger of death” or a “grave necessityだとやはり司祭は赴く必要がありそうです。
The note explained that the diocesan bishop has complete discretion over the administration of collective absolution except where there is an “imminent danger of death” or a “grave necessity.” Individual confession remains the ordinary way of celebrating the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
Also, if there is need to impart absolution to several faithful, the priest is obliged to inform the diocesan bishop as soon as possible.

“They buried him like that, without a funeral, without his loved ones, with just a blessing from the priest,” said his granddaughter Marta Manfredi who couldn’t attend. Like most of the old man’s family - like most of Italy - she was confined to her home.
“When all this is over,” she vows, “we will give him a real funeral.”
Everywhere the coronavirus has struck, regardless of culture or religion, ancient rituals to honor the dead and comfort the bereaved have been cut short or abandoned for fear of spreading it further.
キリスト教についてはよくわかっていないので読み違い、勘違いがあることをご容赦ください。外出ができない、これまでの日常生活が送れないというのはこのような影響を及ぼすものなんですね。外国のニュースも奥行きを持って理解できるようになれるといいんですが。。。
