物書堂のセール ジーニアスか、ウィズダムか

物書堂の新年度セールが今年も始まりました。ジーニアスか、ウィズダムか、どちらも揃えるのがベストですが、用例が豊富にあるので一冊だけならジーニアスと思っていましたが、ウィズダムの丁寧な解説を見て、ウィズダムの素晴らしさも再認識したのでその報告です。

deadlineはTEXさんの銀のフレーズにも載っているTOEIC頻出単語でお馴染みの単語です。でも「締め切りはいつですか？」って以下のどっちだと思いますか？

色々な辞書を確認してみるといいですけど、この用例を載せているのは少ないんですよね。

結論から言うと、ウィズダムは以下の用例を載せてどちらでもいいことを示してくれています。なんでもないことに思えるかもしれませんが、どっちがどっちなんだという気持ちで調べている者にとってはこう言う情報はありがたいです。

「応募締切はいつですか」「5月10日です」

ちなみに、このフォーラムでもどっちでもいいよと書いてくれています。COCAでも用例数はどちらも同じくらいの数でした。
